When it comes down to streaming video games, most players tend to take advantage of Twitch and YouTube. However, many streamers are turning their focus to Mixer since it’s a growing platform with the potential to become the next big thing. As of right now, Mixer is only available for PC and the Xbox One family of consoles. If you’re using a PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch, then you’ll have to take advantage of certain tricks to get the job done as intended.
Now, as we’ve recently come to understand, some users are having problems running Mixer on their Xbox One video game console. An error is popping up telling users that service isn’t working properly, and as such, they must check the Xbox Live service status for a deeper understanding of what’s happening.
These users claim they’ve checked the status and everything is green, which suggests there’s no problem whatsoever. To us, this means the issue lies with the console itself, so we’re going to look into ways things can be rectified once and for all.
Mixer is not working on Xbox One
If Mixer fails to launch on Xbox One here are our suggestions that may help you:
- Restart the Mixer app
- Restart the Xbox One
- Uninstall and reinstall Mixer
Xbox App Won't Load
1] Restart the Mixer app
Any number of things can be the reason behind the Mixer app failing to work as intended on the Xbox One, so one of the best options is to restart the app and then test if things are working as they should.
To restart the app, we suggest locating it on the Home screen, then highlight it using the controller, but don’t select. The next step then is to press the Menu button on the controller, then click on Quit if it’s present. Now, if Quit is not showing, it simply means the app is not running.
2] Restart the Xbox One
OK, so restarting the app didn’t work, which means, it’s time to restart the Xbox One itself. Getting this done is easier than you might think, so follow the instructions, and you’ll become a master at this in no time.
Restarting the device requires the user to open the Guide by pressing the Xbox button on the controller, then navigate to Settings > Restart Console. Press Yes to confirm this action, and from there, just wait until the restart job is complete, then test the Mixer app to figure out if things are back to normal.
Crave Xbox One App Not Working
Alternatively, you could hold the Xbox power button down for 10 seconds to turn off the console. Finally, wait for up to 15 seconds before turning it on again. Doing this is one of the sure-fire ways to fix most issues with Mixer or any other app.
3] Uninstall and reinstall Mixer
The most drastic method to take here is the uninstallation of the app, followed by redownloading it once more. It shouldn’t be a time-consuming task because deleting an app is swift, and the same can be said with download it again if your internet connection is up to scratch.
OK, so to get this done, the user must navigate to My games & apps, highlight the Mixer app, then hit the Menu button on the controller. Finally, select the Uninstall option and wait for it to go away.
After that, return to the Xbox Store and reinstall the Mixer app in hopes all issues have been rectified.

I've been trying to play the game Gigantic on my PC for the past few days but it just won't start. I was able to trace the issue to the fact that the game requires the user to be signed in with the Xbox app and I'm unable to do so for some reason. When I start the app, it goes to a green screen with the Xbox logo in the center with a 'sign in' button below. If I click 'sign in' the app refreshes for a moment before going back to the same screen with the text 'We can't sign you in right now. Try again later.' Below that is the code '(0x409) 0x80080300.' There is a link on screen that says 'Need help?,' but whenever I click it, it just refreshes the page, bringing me back to the same sign in screen.
I've already looked this up through both google and here on Reddit, but so far nothing has worked. I've tried reinstalling the app, installing the beta version and trying to sign in with that, I've tried using suggested actions with Powershell and Command Prompt, I've tried checking the app's service permissions with System Config and Permissions, I've tried setting my time zone to automatic, and I've checked that the account can be signed into on Xbox One, but nothing has given me enough insight on the issue to resolve it.
Odin free download for windows. I don't know what sort of system information needs to be known to help fix this problem, but if it helps; my version of Windows 10 is up to date. If any other information is required please let me know. Any and all help is appreciated.
Edit: Found the problem. Apparently I needed admin permission to initialize the app, so I had to run the app while signed into my admin account and sign into the app from there, and then I could switch back to my main account and sign in from there.
